I'm looking at moving to a more grappling/wrestling/throwing type style than what I've been currently doing (hapkido and MT/boxing).

Hapkido has a few throws, takedowns and grappling, but not to the same level of detail and extent as a style that is primarily focussed on those things.

One style that has caught my eye is Sambo. What are peoples opinions on it, how does it compare to Judo, and other wrestling/grappling styles and is it recommended?

Mate, good sport, hard part is finding someone to train you. I am involved in the sport but not specialising in it atm. There are two russian clubs opened up recently in Sydney which would be the best place to go.
